What it is for

Sefton Council owns and manages a number of sites on the Sefton Coast, most of which fall within the Sefton Coast Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The Council must manage these sites sensitively and for the benefit of their high nature conservation value. The SSSI contains habitats and species that are internationally important and are protected by law. The Sefton Coast is also a RAMSAR site, which means it is an internationally recognised as an important wetland area. All works will be confined to the winter between the months of October and March with precise cut off dates agreed through the Council's Project Manager. No contracted works will take place for this project during April to September
