What it is for

The London Borough of Culture (LBOC) programme, launched by the Mayor of London, supports boroughs to use culture as a catalyst for community pride, creativity, and local change. It funds ambitious, resident-led cultural programmes that strengthen communities, improve wellbeing, and contribute to London's recovery, with a focus on youth engagement, civic participation, and skills development. As part of LBOC the London Boroughs of Barnet, Greenwich, and Merton have received a Cultural Impact Award (CIA) to pilot innovative cultural projects, supported by the Mayor of London, Arts Council England, and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The three boroughs will deliver their main programmes in 2026 and undertake a joint evaluation aligned with the overarching LBOC framework.
