What it is for

ACE requires an advice service to act as Collections Care Adviser (previous contract was called Environmental Adviser), to the Government Indemnity Scheme (GIS). Bids are welcomed from both sole traders, SME's as well as larger organisations. We would expect the successful applicant to have relevant and current experience of working within the cultural sector in particular museums and exhibitions, and within preventive conservation, to provide credibility to the advice given in support of a national scheme. The successful applicant must have experience of applying collections care/preventative conservation in heritage collections and an understanding of current/emerging international standards e.g. BIZOT. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
