What it is for

The aim of the Service is in delivering the key outcomes identified in the Rough Sleeper Reduction Strategy, by supporting rough sleepers and former rough sleepers to prepare for independent living through the expansion of the Short-Term Accommodation and Resettlement (STAR) portfolio of provision.\\r\r Cornwall Council provides support within short term temporary accommodation to adults (18+ years) who are sleeping rough or who have formerly slept rough, for whom addition support would benefit them, to develop their independent living skills before moving into longer-term supported accommodation or independent living. Support will be provided according to assessment of risk and need and delivered by trained workers with a high level of understanding of the specific needs.\\r\r Provision of support in Short Term Accommodation and Resettlement (STAR) - Freshstart, St Austell is to be provided within 18 short-term accommodation units to former rough sleepers in St Austell, Cornwall.
