What it is for

This contract is essential for Highways Maintenance team to deliver statutory duties, including:\r - minor maintenance works;\r - minor coated macadam patching and pothole reinstatement to carriageways and footways;\r - relaying and replacing slabs;\r - relaying and replacing kerbs and channels;\r - adjusting boxes;\r - fixing and adjusting small signs;\r - cutting and trimming trees, hedges and shrubs;\r - removing obstructions from the highway;\r - providing assistance to the emergency services;\r - reacting to civil contingencies which may include severe weather events and oil spills;\r \r The contract is intended to last for an initial 8 year period with two optional 2 year extensions.\r \r Estimated value is £2million per annum (up to £16million for the initial period and up to £24million if all extension exercised).
