What it is for

Walsall Council is looking to appoint a single competent contractor to make improvements to a number of park areas within the 'Bloxwich & Leamore Parks' project. The works will include sport, play, hard and soft landscaping to enhance the experience for Walsall residence. The Bloxwich & Leamore Parks project is split into 4 locations; Bloxwich: o Bloxwich Park o Memorial Gardens - Pat Collins o Promenade Gardens Leamore: o Leamore Park As there will be a number of parks redevelopment schemes being carried out within the Bloxwich area during similar periods the works will need to be phased, with Bloxwich taking precedent then Leamore. Bloxwich Park & Memorial Gardens - Sport, play, hard and soft landscaping improvements to all 3 sites aims to: o Add colour, interest, and seasonal variety to the backdrop of Bloxwich Park to increase overall amenity value o Activate a sense of play within the park, upgrading the existing play space with imaginative/ interpretative and formal play based upon the Pat Collins Funfair themed colours. o Pathway upgrades to allow for enhanced circulation routes, sense of safety and spatial hierarchy, together with additional seating etc. o Reduce the maintenance need of amenity grass to encourage and improve biodiversity value o Increase a sense of safety and time spent within the park o Enhance connection to local history/cultural activities Leamore Park - Sports, play, hard and soft landscaping as improvement aims to: o Provide a playground catering for all ages of children based on the theme of 'The Sea' providing local school children with the experience of visiting and playing at the seaside. o Reduce maintenance of mown grass areas o Increase a sense of safety and time spent within the park o Provide space for the local children to play…
