What it is for

Rochdale Borough Council have made an award via the Rochdale Highways Framework Agreement for the works to Castleton Bee Network. The Castleton to Rochdale Bee Network Phase 2 (Phase 2 herein) will connect the highways work recently delivered through Castleton local centre (Phase 1) onwards to Rochdale Town Centre through a further package of complimentary active travel measures along and adjacent to the Manchester Road (A664 and A58) corridor. The scheme elements have been developed collaboratively with colleagues from Transport for Greater Manchester. Although both phases promote active travel, there are different site contexts and treatments within each and the Phase 2 work is to be measured against its own specific deliverables, benefits and scheme metrics.
