What it is for

The 0-19 (25) Starting Well Service will provide clinical leadership, co-ordination, and delivery of the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) 0-19 years (25) and Children's Centre Core offer The Healthy Child Programme is led by health visitors and school nurses/starting well nurses (Band 6 public health nurses), who work in partnership with a range of professionals and agencies to support children and families and to deliver the HCP. Health visitors and school nurses are specialist public health nurse (SCPHN); they are either a registered nurse or midwife who has undertaken a year's further post registration training in child health, health promotion, public health, and education. Health visitors and school nurses provide place-based services and work in partnership with education, LAs, health and other key partners where needed to deliver an effective (HCP) for prevention and support. The service should work alongside other child services who should be delivering other public health elements of the HCP.
