What it is for

Our project entails the procurement of a comprehensive digital platform specifically designed for land assessments. The platform will feature a user-friendly interface, integration with existing systems and data, and advanced functionalities that will transform the way land assessments are conducted for Durham County Council. It is also anticipated that other Local Authorities facing the same challenges will be able to adopt similar practices following completion of the project. The proposed project is to rationalise our existing database of sites for Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) and migrate to a more advanced digital platform which will also allow improved public engagement. A system which allows more efficient and user-friendly processes to be implemented in relation to land assessment, will enable the existing site assessment to be broadened from housing to also include other uses such as employment, open space, recreation, and biodiversity net gain.
