What it is for

The overarching aim of the project is to update our evidence base on the cost of higher education provision. This will notably feed into a potential review of the Strategic Priorities Grants, but will also be use widely for many pieces of analysis supporting higher education policy. The research will consist of 2 stages: 1) Costings data collection and analysis and 2) Deep dive interviews with providers to challenge the data and understand differences between high and low costs in similar provision. The output from this research will provide a robust evidence base which will significantly improve our understanding of the cost of provision in higher education, and the costs drivers.
