What it is for

Luton is a multicultural and vibrant town having over 80,000, households and 225,000 residents in the Borough which benefit from a bi-weekly residual waste collection, bi-weekly dry recycling collection, kerbside glass collection every four weeks, and an opt in chargeable garden waste scheme. In addition, the Council provides weekly bulky waste collections, weekly clinical waste collections and has a commercial waste service to over 800 customers. From April 2026 the Council will also provide weekly kerbside Food Waste Collections to all households within the borough including flats and communal areas. There is a variety of specialist collection vehicles used to conduct collections, ranging from vans to large refuse collection vehicles (RCV's).
