What it is for

The proposed RDC scope features containerised, standalone accommodation units for single occupation for risk assessed prisoners. The units are equipped with fixed furniture, arranged into a double or single storey configuration and attached to separate sleeper units and ancillary spaces. Owing to budget constraints and site-specific requirements, ancillary units typically comprise of offices, storage, association spaces, laundry facilities, serveries, self-catering kitchen facilities. Works contract for the delivery of: Provision of foundations, hard standing, lead up services (electric and water), drainage, final connections (electric, water, drainage, fire alarm in cell telephony) etc. A constructor has been appointed for the design and build of the project. This is a two stage Design and Build Contract let under the PPC2000 (Amended 2013) Form of contract. The original estimated value of the contract was calculated by MOJ, and its Cost Consultants following desktop and non-intrusive surveys and was based on information reasonably known at the time and arrived at via a thorough and appropriate methodology.
