What it is for

The overall purpose of this research is to conduct a comprehensive assessment of current practices for capturing, handling, storing, selling, transporting, and slaughtering decapod crustaceans and cephalopod molluscs throughout different UK supply chains. The research will attempt to quantify (where data permits) the prevalence of these practices and develop standardized conversion metrics to estimate the number of animals involved.
