What it is for

The project comprises of refurbishing and extending onto an existing indoor bowls hall to provide an activity center that meets the needs of the local community. The facilities are to include new four court sports hall in the existing bowls hall, a multipurpose studio, fitness suite, café and changing facilities. In addition, the facility will create a valuable social hub with a community café included and new changing provision to meet the requirements for the proposed facility and external all weather pitch (AWP). The Stage1 award included developing the detailed design for the works, contractor involvement and 'buildability' advice which was incorporated into the design prior to submission of a planning application in April 2024. Stage 1 is now complete, the award is for for 2 requirements.
