What it is for

Worcestershire County Council (WCC) is responsible for the delivery of services to children, young people and Families in Worcestershire. These services include Children's Social Care, Education, Early Help and Fostering. As part of the 2015 Children's Homes Regulations, every registered Children's Home in England must appoint an Independent Person, also known as a Regulation 44 (Reg 44) Visitor, to visit and report on the children's home. The role of an Independent Visitor is to review a children's home to ensure policies and procedures are undertaken in accordance with the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED), children/young people are safeguarded and make recommendations where improvements are required. WCC currently has 3 registered children's homes and short breaks provisions within Worcestershire and are seeking to commission a service provider who can provide the Reg 44 Visitor service.
