What it is for

A bespoke drift trial data set to validate the existing work developing the UK drift curve. There is a lack of available field data that assess drift exposures from in field applications. This trial will enable better understanding of the contribution of in-field spray applications to the overall drift exposures in edge of field surface water bodies (and off crop areas). To support HSE's Aquatic Buffer Zone Review a project was undertaken to develop a UK spray drift exposure curve that was representative of UK practice in arable fields. The outcome of that previous project is a proposed UK drift curve which has been generated based upon available edge of field drift data and modelling output using the Silsoe Spray Drift Model (SiMOD) and this project follows on from that work.
