What it is for

This is a Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) competition funded by the UK Space Agency. The Aim of this competition is to undertake research and technology development to derisk national ADR mission concepts. This competition invites applicants to submit mission designs which are compliant to UKSA Active Debris Removal mission requirements, identify the top risk areas in those designs, and deliver a package of risk reduction activity which will enhance and increase technology readiness levels of the submitted mission preliminary designs. A total of up to £4.7m inclusive of VAT, is allocated to this competition. We expect to fund a maximum of two projects. Each project should be delivered by 31st March 2025. Each project can range in size up to total costs of £2.35m, inclusive of VAT. Please refer to attachments for the full competition guidance .
