What it is for

This call-off contract is for the provision of run, maintain and development of the Spine Core Platform and ensure it is fully operative and available 24x7x365. Spine Core is a collection of national applications and services which act as a central integration point to facilitate the exchange of information between local and national IT systems. It supports the IT infrastructure for health and social care in England, joining together over 23,000 healthcare IT systems in 20,500 organisations. It holds 100TB of data and handles 10,000,000,000 messages a year. The Initial Contract Value is £18,000,000 (£22,500,000 including the optional extension period). VARIATION The value of this variation is £9,000,000. This variation is being made in accordance with Regulation 72(1)(b) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015. The scope of services provided under the contract remain the same, with the variation facilitating a continuation of support while a re-procurement and transition to a new agreement continues. The Total Contract Value is £31,500,000 and the Expiry Date has been extended to 31/12/2027
