What it is for

Kirklees Council wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced consultancy team to support the development of a Dewsbury Town Centre Living Plan, Dewsbury Economic Investment Plan and the Dewsbury Long-term Plan by undertaking an appraisal of viability and potential land use options in the town centre. Through the Dewsbury Town Investment Plan work has progressed to acquire properties in the Daisy Hill area - as part of the Dewsbury Long-term Plan the Council wish to build on this work to develop a plan of action for the town centre. This will include consideration of options to enable town centre living, and address vacant premises. The Dewsbury Long-term Plan will be a community-driven 10-year vision to transform the town. It is currently under development and must be submitted to DLUHC by 1st August 2024 - this work is required to feed into the Long-term Plan and therefore early outputs from the work will be required in late June and early July.
