What it is for

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees (the "Council") is seeking Providers with relevant experience and ability to demonstrate sufficient capacity for the provision of a Contractor to deliver the A638 DEWSBURY-CLECKHEATON Sustainable Travel Corridor (the Highways works). The A638 Dewsbury-Cleckheaton Sustainable Travel Corridor TCF scheme (the 'A638 Corridor scheme') is focused on improving journeys for bus users, pedestrians, and cyclists between Heckmondwike and Cleckheaton town centres, with some additional minor improvements between Dewsbury and Heckmondwike. The scheme will support active and shared-mode transport choices for local communities and encourage modal shift away from private car to reduce carbon emissions and improve local air quality. The procurement exercise was conducted through a further competition under YORCivils3 - Lot 3: Civil Works over £4m to £10m South and West. Contract Period: 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026 with the option to extend for a further 6 months until 30th September 2026.
