What it is for

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council is looking to establish a Professional Service Short Contract with a Service Provider for use in the appointment of a suitably qualified and experienced civil engineering consultant / Specialist Highway Structures Inspectors to carry out Principal Inspections of Highway Structures in accordance with DMRB CS 450 including the organisation of safe access, required permits, traffic management and report production. The Contractor shall comply at their own cost with all special requirements of Statutory bodies such as Network Rail, Environment Agency, and Canal and River Trust. The commission is for inspections that are required to be conducted in the 2024/25 financial year and consists of a mixture of bridges, footbridges, subways and culverts spanning various obstacles such as highways and watercourses, railway and heritage railway and the like.
