What it is for

The National Situational Awareness System (SSAS) project aim is to successfully implement a solution nationally to support all Police Forces. Police Digital Service placed a Prior Information Notice (reference 465342-2020) on the 29th September 2020 in the Official Journal of the European Union seeking tenders from suppliers for the Surveillance Operations rooms Services to contracting authorities under a framework agreement. Tenders were submitted, Airbox were the successful bidder to provide a national solution across all Forces. A business case was prepared by NYP in July 2024 and presented at the Specialist Board and Change Board which was approved. The national initiative has been agreed by all Chief Constables to adopt and a national rollout programme is now in place to support the implementation.
