What it is for

West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) is leading a DEFRA-funded project (the "Domestic Burning Project") until approximately July 2026. The project is funded as part of the DEFRA Air Quality Grant Scheme 2022-23. This project includes elements that each require specific expertise, and we (WNC) are requesting quotes for an experienced contractor to undertake all these pieces of work. The 4 research elements are listed below with a brief outline of the key outputs: • Element 1: Air quality data collection and research to investigate the impacts of domestic solid fuel burning on internal and external air pollution, including in real-world settings. • Element 3&4: Health and economic impacts evaluation to seek to quantify the impacts of domestic solid fuel burning in public health and in financial terms. • Element 6: Modelling to establish what educative or legislative options are available to WNC and the impacts of these on health and economy. • Element 7: Final Report
